5 out of 5 stars Very entertaining   December 28, 2008

Like so many other reviewers, I couldn't put this book down. I read it on Boxing day and my partner kept giving me funny looks when I was chuckling away to myself at Alan's antics.
Alan's story goes to show that there are good times and bad times when you're a struggling artiste, but that he made it because of (and not despite) his slightly goofy look and camp, high pitched voice.
A fantastic, funny, and sometimes touching read which has left me wanting more. I hope he writes another one following on from this with stories from The Friday Night Project and The Sunday Night Project.

5 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Bit of Light Relief!   December 28, 2008

I really like Alan Carr but was a bit worried what he would write about in an autobiography, especially as he is so young! I needn't have worried this is a great book and it's as if you can imagine him saying every word, it deals with Alan's childhood, non-existent love-life, series of mundane jobs, years at university and gradual break into comedy.

What I really loved was that, as well as being really funny, he wasn't afraid to look vulnerable. This really was the most wonderful light read; my particular highlights were the `sexual Cato' and the bit where he's dressed as a pig, so keep an eye out for those! But the ultimate message was to keep following your dreams, brilliant!

5 out of 5 stars Very Funny book.   December 22, 2008

This bought was just so funny I laughed out loud. I would say just get on and buy it. It was easy to read, and you could imagine the senarios he found himself in. I read it straight through and wished it was longer. It was one of the best autobiography's I've read.

5 out of 5 stars FUNNY GUY!!!   December 22, 2008

This was a very funny book which had you laughing almost all the way from cover to cover. Alan Carr is one of the funniest guys around on the circuit today and reading this book you can see why. If you like Alan Carr you won't go far wrong here and try his DVD's out the man is a comedy legend.

5 out of 5 stars Could not put down   December 22, 2008

What a great book, could not put it down read it in a day (it;s approx 300 pages). It's not full of comedy although it did have me laughing out loud on a few occasions, altough Alan talks honestly about his life before and after fame, it's very well written and flows well, Alan also avoids falling into the trap of overly running anyone down and keeps the style upbeat during the whole book even when discribing some of his more mundan past jobs. Great read could not recommend enough!
