Good pouch to store the passprt range of external hard drives
little pocket inside to hold usb cables
elastic ribbon to hold the hard drive tight!

 NOT SUITABLE FOR SMALL HARD DRIVES January 4, 2009
I bought this for my 'Western Digital My Passport Essential USB Portable External Hard Drive' but it proved to be far too big, even though it was reccomended through the 'buy together' deal with amazon. My hard drive moves around inside the case and is not held firmly in place which negates the 'shock proof-ness' of the case. I can see how this case would be good for a older larger harddrive but for slimmer more modern models it is not suitable!

I bought one of these because of the price really, and before my LaCie Rugged 500GB had arrived (not from here, cheaper at PC world bussiness) and i thought that it would never fit inside this guy (the RUGGED is a little larger than most drives due to rubber protective siding), but when this arrived a day later... WHAT A PERFECT FIT...!! Its as if the guys at CASE LOGIC made it for my little orange RUGGED.
so, get one... for whatever hard drive... will give u a few more miles out of your drive... and it will look better, longer.. Also, the lacie rugged is a beauty... rubber protector all around sides, and rubber suspension inside, so should last a few years... lets hope... (",)
p.s. I obviously like to protect my info, i make music and if i ever lost a song i had written..... inpossible to recreate... so i want complete protection....
GET ONE.... or even TWO... good price, and use one for other stuff...

The western digital size passport/mybook drives are too small for this case, however they can be held within due to the elastic strp holding it snug. The case opens up in two one side for the drive and the other for cables or other stuff you'd like to keep. I prefer to keep the included cable with the passport drive which also helps to stop the small drive moving around. On the other side I keep a longer double headed lindy cable (used for older machines where one usb slot is not enough power, so two slots are required) this stops the drive moving the vertically and not put a strain on the strap.
The outer material is a tough protective shell which has a woven feel, to enusre you can keep a grip. Though I would have expected interally for it to be lined with a softer material like high density foam to absorb any knocks, but this was not the case.
At the moment I don't see an alternative product, I'm quite suprised that Case Logic (who make some of the best cases around) haven't got round to improving the product.

Recently bought this case for my Trekstor pocket g.u. Provides good protection for the hard drive when travelling, if just a little oversize for the pocket drive.
