Ruined by Corel March 31, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have been a long standing user of PSP but once Corel got thier hands on it it's all over. PSP was a byword for effective, efficient and inexpensive photo editing software. Now it is none of these. Bloatware springs to mind and not cheap either. Do yourself a favour and find an old copy of PSP 7 it will do everything you ask and it will even run off your USB stick. If you reaaly want to spend the cash, spend it on photoshop elements 6 or save your pennies for a few months and go for the full photoshop. Corel Photoshop is just waiting to drag your system down
Photo editor good, organizer bad August 22, 2007 28 out of 30 found this review helpful
This product is not the best organizer, but the photo editor is brilliant and much better than Photoshop elements 5. If you are looking for a photo organizer I recommend Google Picasa (www.google.co.uk/picasa). Overall I find that Paint shop pro is the best picture editing software available and outshines Adobe Photoshop Elements. Before you buy remember to go to the Corel website (www.corel.co.uk) and try the free 30 day trial.
Rubbish July 25, 2007 6 out of 25 found this review helpful
Bought the whole package, the free Corel Snapfire 30 day trial had expired without even trying it, the updates for Pain Shop Pro Photo x1 would not download. Phoned the help line who gave me a link for Snapfire, downoaded that only to find my key number would not work in that one. all in all, better stick with the one you have. A complete waste of money.
Some people don't like change and growth... July 23, 2007 15 out of 19 found this review helpful
Okay, here it is. I'm a PSP user, who has also used Photoshop 7 - and I can tell you this, PSP is my preference. I've used PSP 7, ordered the box and book, used it until PSP 8, got it too, and was so happy about the moves forward, yes some bugs, still and yet, a good program. PSP 9, without hesitation, picked it up as well. However, I wasn't blown away with solid sticking to it conviction until PSP X! I love it! It was innovative, with a few bugs, but they were fixed and I was happy. My plan had been to hang on to it but I've always moved forward with each new version and I couldn't see how much different PSP XI would be from X. Well I've been messing with the trial for over a week now and you know what ... I don't know WHAT the complaining is about! Once more ... this program is INCREDIBLE!!! SO much so, I've ordered it from Amazon and I'll be getting it in a day or so. In the meanwhile, I have the Trial version and as in the case of the others, once I've experimented with the newest ... I couldn't move backwards. While I have them all, I don't go back and I won't once I get the box to install the full version with this one.
Paint Shop Pro XI and its browser setup for me ... is a breeze. You have options and its all about how you look at them to use them. WINNING PROGRAM ALL THE WAY ... If you afraid of moving forward ... don't. But you're missing out on some winning extras!
Why do they have to make it worse every time???? June 14, 2007 18 out of 32 found this review helpful
I've used Paint Shop Pro for the last 10 years, it all went wrong with version 8, version 9 got better and then version X and XI became a waste of space. If you want to do really good graphics editing then there is no choice - PHOTOSHOP!, people only use Paint Shop Pro because it's easier to use than Photoshop for most easy functions - Once they make it just as hard to use as Photoshop then what's the point?? If you're serious about graphics you'd be a mug to buy this, if you want a good simple editing program get a copy of version 7. Enough said!
