Like A Virgin She Is December 2, 2002 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
The "The Virgin Tour" has more looks into her personal style, dance skills, and beginnings. To really appreciate this video I recommend you see it with an open mind. It starts off with her saying a warm hello and short welcome. The live performance features 2 dancers, 3 changes of costumes, and a crowd of wild fans. I liked this video so much I never returned it to the rental place so that should help you in your decision to buy it. Songs included are: Dress You Up, Holiday, Into The Groove, Everybody, Gambler, Lucky Star, Crazy For You, Over And Over, Like A Virgin, and Material Girl. She wears blue-purple in the first 4 songs, black in 4 more and then white for the last 2. The beginning stage show is very similar in fashion. You see choreographed steps, and close-ups of her singing, and flirting with the crowd. Toward the end you see a more laid back sensual side of her, as she feels more at ease in "Crazy For You" "Like A Virgin" and "Material Girl". The last song, makes this selection completely worth buying. The performance was for "Material Girl". The male dancers get close to her as they touch and walk with her taking turns trying to win her over. Here she puts a fur, more jewelry and asks the crowd, "Do you think I'm a Material Girl?" as she screams, "I don't need money I need love!" She takes off all her jewelry, gloves, and material things throwing it to the crowd as a sign of her affection when all of a sudden her dad grabs her arm and walks her off stage. She goes back to get her fur and kiss the crowd. She ends talking again saying, "It's all about flirting!" The tape ends with her laughing endlessly so it is apparent the message was: It's All About Flirting!
Energenic, exciting and a full of life presentation. November 30, 2000 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
She performs very well in her first concert, showing what she is made of. Also her performance is very much an indication of what we could expect from a very talented woman. She shows so much determination and energy with every song she performs. Good on her!!!
